What a successful first day at the teaching garden (aka The Farm.) We began our 6 week unit study with Mr. Rodgers from Palmetto Organics. The children planted both watermelon and eggplant today. A big thank you to Mr. Russell who will be the lead teacher every Thursday so that I may attend my grade level meetings. Parents are welcome to come and join any Thursday 1:15-2:15...just be sure to coordinate your overalls with Mr. Russell! He apparently has a set in every color!!! ;0
The children brought in so many different collections of 100: rainbow colored acorns, fairy beads, matchbox cars, shells, beans, a popcorn necklace, peanuts, gems and stickers. What a fun day of counting. Ms. Papke brought in a picture of her soon to be 100 year old grandmother!
